About the Cakes

Minette believes that taste trumps design. A cake isn't memorable unless it is delicious and gorgeous. We use only the freshest and finest ingredients available including Belgian chocolate, Tahitian vanilla and signature spices to ensure that our cakes are beautiful and the taste incredible.

FLAVORS

Vanilla Bean Cake
Our signature cake made with Tahitian vanilla beans. Light and moist, this vanilla cake goes well with a raspberry, strawberry, lemon curd, or fresh coconut filling. Torte the layers and add white chocolate mousse, strawberries and cream mousse, or Bavarian cream...sinful!

Sour Cream Pound Cake
There is nothing like a Southern pound cake. Dense and moist, our pound cake is delicious filled with lemon curd or buttercream icing. For those brides looking for a traditional wedding cake flavor, this is it.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Pound Cake
A dense, moist, rich chocolate pound cake made with the finest Belgian cocoa. Almost brownie-like in texture, this cake will melt in your mouth.  If you are a true chocolate lover, pair it with our chocolate ganache and be prepared for a chocolate lover's dream.

Chocolate Truffle Cake
Custom Cakes' signature chocolate cake is made moist and delicious with Kahlua. Paired with raspberry, white chocolate mousse, peanut butter mousse, Belgian chocolate fudge filling, chocolate ganache, Grand Marnier mousse, cookies and cream mousse, or our strawberries and cream mousse, this cake will impress even the most ardent chocoholic.

Carrot Cake
A southern favorite, our carrot cake (with or without pecans) is filled with your choice of cream cheese icing or our traditional buttercream icing.

Red Velvet
Another southern favorite. A light chocolate cake easily recognized by its red velvet color and filled with your choice of cream cheese icing or our traditional buttercream icing.

Banana Spice Cake
The newest addition to the Custom Cakes line up is made with fresh bananas, cinnamon, and brown sugar. This moist, delicious spice cake has proven to be a popular choice for our brides. Paired with Custom Cakes’ Dulche de Leche filling, it becomes an unbeatable flavor combination.

FROSTING

We offer a white chocolate rolled fondant that is made using our own recipe. Our delicious white chocolate rolled fondant has a silky texture that stays soft. Rolled to a thickness of 1/8 inch and draped over a  layer of our signature buttercream icing, our white chocolate rolled fondant produces a smooth alabaster finish that looks beautiful and tastes exquisite.

About the Designer

An artist at heart, Minette has been crafting award-winning custom cakes for over 12 years. Lauded by her wedding industry colleagues as the only choice for discerning brides who demand beauty as well as delicious cakes, her designs have been commissioned by many celebrities and personalities who have chosen the Savannah area as their wedding destination.

Minette has a lifelong love of learning and has taken classes from some of the industry's best designers.  Attending classes with Nicholas Lodge to Ron Ben-Israel, she is continually learning new techniques and sharpening her craft. Minette's designs have been featured in such publications as In Style Weddings, WE Platinum Weddings, Savannah Magazine, South Magazine, Atlanta Bride, The Knot 50 Most Beautiful and feature films such as "The Last Song." She has also competed in Food Network's Challenge and her shop has made six Food Network Challenge appearances.

A proud member of the International Cake Exploration Societe, Minette has been sharing her talent for years as a demonstrator at the ICES conventions and as guest instructor at numerous culinary trade shows throughout the United States.  Grateful for her blessings, Minette now shares her talent locally through her "Sugar Seminars" so that others can know the joy of creating edible art.

About the Consultation

Minette Rushing Custom Cakes has earned a reputation for the most exquisite and delicious cakes in the Savannah, Georgia - Bluffton - Hilton Head Island, South Carolina region.

We work with each bride and groom individually, to make your wedding cake personalized and special. It is recommended that you schedule a tasting and consultation appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure that the date of your wedding is available. It is helpful to have made venue, floral and theme decisions prior to your consultation. Bookings are made on a first come, first pay basis. We are a boutique pastry shop and are limited in the number of events we can handle each weekend. Consultation fee is $25 and will go towards the cost of your cake.

Wedding cake commissions start at $1000 and range up to $35 per person, depending on the detail and design.

Cakes are skillfully hand delivered as close to the event start as possible and presented on a luxurious silver stand. Delivery is complimentary to the Greater Savannah area. Delivery charges may apply for extensive travel.
