I am thrilled to be team teaching "The Art of Cakes:  Baking and Decorating" with esteemed chef instructor, Chef Darin Senhert, owner of Chef Darin's Kitchen Table, a hands on cooking school in Savannah, GA.  Chef Darin comes to Savannah via Walt Disney World's Disney Institute where he developed and implemented cooking classes at Walt Disney World.

Coming up on August 9th & 10th: Mastering the Art of Cakes: Baking to Decorating.
From ingredients weighing and measuring to mixing techniques, assembly, and final finishing we'll be covering it all
Join Minette Rushing and chef Darin Sehnert on August 9 & 10th for our first joint baking and decorating class. In this hands-on class students will learn the essential techniques to take a multi-layer cake from beginning to end, including a fool-proof technique for a perfect buttercream finish and creating elegant fondant bows.
Each guest will bake and decorate an 8-inch round cake to take home to share with their family and friends. All supplies necessary for class use will be provided, as well as a light lunch each day. Students with special dietary needs may prefer to bring their own lunch. Booking the first date of the series will enroll you for all dates of class.

Techniques for scratch baking
Baking of cakes
Swiss meringue buttercream & filling
Day 2:
Filling and frosting
Covering with fondant
Decorating with Luster dust
Making fondant bows
